VoIP vs Traditional Phone Systems
Traditional phone systems use dedicated copper pairs from a PBX to each telephone, with analog voice signals. VoIP (Voice over IP) converts voice to digital packets transmitted over ethernet networks. VoIP offers lower costs, easier scalability, unified communications features, and remote worker support. The tradeoff is dependence on network reliability and quality of service (QoS) configuration.

What is a 66-Block?
A 66-block is a punch-down termination block used for telephone wiring since the 1960s. It accommodates 25 pairs (50 conductors) for connecting station cables to trunk lines. While largely superseded by 110-blocks for data applications, 66-blocks remain common in voice-only installations and for terminating telephone company demarcation points in older buildings.
